Support
the Zimbabwe Nurses Association for Human Rights
Zimbabwe
Nurses Association for Human Rights (ZimNAHR)
May 22, 2008
We are calling
on all the resident professional nurses, those in the Diaspora,
the civic society and all interested individuals to come forward
and support our association. We are seeking to network and position
the professional nurses properly as advocates and custodians of
human rights.
The ongoing political
violence, the crumbling social system together with the global food
shortages have created too many casualties whose plight we can not
continue to ignore anymore. We would like to advocate for a peaceful,
intimidation free society in which individuals have the right to
chose between and whats not.
We are therefore
kindly requesting for support to enable our organization to get
to the victims of political violence countrywide so that we may
provide specialized nursing services to the affected and those who
can not access health care, Our agenda is clear. As health practitioners
we are central to the human rights issue. Our agenda is apolitical,
we are advocating for a peaceful, democratic and prosperous country
where everyone plays an active role in working towards the attainment
of MDGs. This can only be possible in a state in which everyone
has access to health care.
We will soon be conducting
outreaches to offer nursing services to victims of political violence,
xenophobia, social decline and HIV/AIDS. We will require medicines,
transport and food to carry out the nursing outreaches.
The Zimbabwean issue
is everyone's issue none but ourselves are the solution to the problems
we have. As health professionals we have identify our role in all
this, its now up to society to respond.
