Judgment on trial of human rights defender expected today
Restoration of Human Rights (ROHR)
May 09, 2012

Judgment on the trial of human rights defender and ROHR Zimbabwe spokesperson Sten Zvorwadza is expected today Wednesday the 9th of May 2012 at the Mbare Magistrate courts at 2pm. Lets come out in solidarity against a stand to the systematic harassment of activist and human rights defenders by the state for partisan gain for certain political parties in government.

Sten Zvorwadza is facing ridiculous trumped up charges on attempted murder. The state has failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that he is guilty in the past few months other than deferring trial dates. It has become more of being subjected to court cumbersome orders than wanting to see justice delivered.

We do not condone a situation where by the judiciary system fails to make a stand to protect all citizenry, regardless of political affiliation against interference on the bench from mercenary lawlessness elements in ZANU PF who would adversely want impunity promoted and innocent people put in jail. Where then will people get justice and equality before the law, if not in their own country? If your political affiliation is enough for you to be convicted well before a trial.
