  • MDC leadership goes to the people
    Movement for Democratic Change
    April 07, 2010

True to its tradition of going to the people, the MDC leadership, led by President Morgan Tsvangirai, today met party structures in Mutare in Manicaland province, marking the beginning of nationwide meetings and consultations in all the provinces to discuss pertinent issues affecting the party and the country.

The leadership of excellence this morning met the Manicaland provincial council, which comprises representatives from all the province's 26 districts, from Chimanimani to Nyanga.

The issues discussed include the state and status of the party, the Constitution-making process, the imminent hunger facing the country, the inter-party dialogue and the health and life of the Global Political Agreement (GPA).

The MDC leadership values its meetings with grassroots structures as these periodic consultations help in understanding the concerns and feelings of the people of Zimbabwe.

Today's meeting in Mutare is the beginning of a series of meetings in other provinces as part of on-spot checks and consultations on key issues affecting the people.
