Farewell,
our hero for real change
Movement for Democratic Change (MDC)

The MDC is deeply saddened at the loss of yet another gallant fighter
for real change, Mr Sicino Dube, the former Midlands South provincial
chairperson.
Mr Dube died
on Thursday after a short illness at Masase Hospital in Mberengwa.
He will be buried in his rural home in ward 26, Mberengwa South
on Sunday, 18 September 2011
Mr Dube was
elected the provincial vice chairperson between 2000 and 2005 before
he was elected as the chairperson in 2006. He stood by the MDC during
the most difficult phases of its spilt in October 2005 holding fort
and ensuring that the party remained strong and vibrant in the province.
At the time of his death, he had been elected into the MDC council
of elders.
He is survived
by his two wives, 11 children and several grandchildren.
The Midlands
South province and the MDC at large, is at a loss of a dedicated,
passionate and courageous leader whose ideals where to see a new
and better Zimbabwe for all people.
Meanwhile, another
MDC member has been laid to rest in Masvingo Province.
Mr Green Gwatinyanya,
the former Masvingo Central district chairperson passed away at
Morgenster Hospital on Thursday. The MDC mourns with his family
at this time of grief.
Gwatinyanya
was one of the MDC activists who were brutally assaulted by Zanu
PF thugs in Masvingo Province in 2005. Internal fractures and injuries
he sustained then did not fully heal.
He was laid
to rest today at his homestead in Masvingo Central.
The MDC mourns
with the families of the deceased and pledges to continue with the
fight for democracy until real change is experienced in Zimbabwe.
