  • Two MDC activists granted bail at the High Court
    Movement for Democratic Change (MDC)
    September 17, 2011

Two MDC members who were arrested on 7 September on false charges of murdering a police officer in Glen View in May have been granted a US$300 bail each at the High Court.

Kerina Dewa, the Harare provincial secretary for National Healing and Memory Ncube, another activist, were granted bail by Justice Joseph Musakwa.

They are part of 26 MDC members who were arrested on trumped-up charges of murdering the police officer. The police officer was murdered by unknown revellers at a nightclub.

Seven other activists are still in remand prison while the other 17 were granted bail in July.
