Arrested MDC officials released from police custody in Gwanda

The six MDC officials who were arrested on Saturday in Gwanda, Matebeleland South were today released from police custody after the police said they had no charges to answer.

The six were arrested at the MDC provincial offices as they were holding training for the provincial and district members.

Meanwhile, 14 other members who were arrested in Beit Bridge carrying out the same exercise appeared in court today and the magistrate is yet to make a ruling on whether they should be remanded in custody.

The State is opposing bail.
