Sekuru Magura's burial set for Sunday
Movement for Democratic Change (MDC)
June 01, 2012

President Tsvangirai is expected to lead the MDC leadership on Sunday for the burial of Sekuru Cephas Magura, the MDC chairperson for Ward 1 in Mudzi North who was murdered by Zanu PF thugs at Chimukoko Business Centre last week.

The burial will take place at Botso village at 10 am.

President Tsvangirai is currently in Luanda, Angola attending the SADC Troika meeting on the political events taking place in Zimbabwe.

Sekuru Magura was murdered by known Zanu PF hooligans at a sanctioned MDC rally in full view of the police. Six of the murderers have been arrested and are in custody at Nyamapanda Police Station.

Meanwhile, a report prepared by the Joint Monitoring and Implementation Committee (Jomic) has said the Chimukoko incident must be treated seriously.

"The incident with all the seriousness it deserves if we are to be taken seriously as JOMIC in our initiative of peace building. It has to be condemned at all levels from with all parties involved and everyone concerned," said Jomic in a statement.
