    June 25, 2012

Indications were today carried out at Glen View 3 Shopping Centre in Harare by three State witnesses who again, gave conflicting evidence on what led to the death of a police officer at the centre last year in May.

The three have in previous occasions given conflicting evidence in the trial at the High Court on what led to the death of Inspector Mutedza.

During the indications, all the 29 accused in leg irons were present while Munyarari Bar, the scene of incident was opened for the first time in more than a year for the indications.

Meanwhile, there was a heavy police presence in Glen View with motorists and residents being prevented from passing through the area surrounding Glen View 3 Shopping Centre.

All the shops and vending sites including a private college at the shopping centre were closed today. Most journalists and relatives of the accused were prevented from entering and observing the indications at the centre although the trial is being held in an open court at the High Court.

The trial continues at the High Court tomorrow. Six State witnesses from an expected 21 have taken the stand since the trial started three weeks ago.
