  • Glen View murder trial resumes Monday

    The High Court trial of 29 MDC members facing false charges of murdering a police officer in Glen View, Harare last year resumes before Justice Chinembiri Bhunu on Monday.

    The trial was postponed two weeks ago as Justice Bhunu had another pending case before him.

    The 29 members have been in remand prison since their indictment for trial in March. Their application for bail was filed at the Supreme Court last Friday after Justice Bhunu had refused them bail at the High Court claiming there were no special circumstances.

    Those accused for the false murder and public violence charges are; Solomon Madzore, the MDC Youth Assembly chairperson, Last Maengahama, a National Executive Committee member, Councillor Oddrey Sydney Chirombe of Ward 33, Budiriro, Councillor, Tungamirai Madzokere of Ward 32, Glen View, Cynthia Manjoro, Lloyd Chitanda, Stanford Mangwiro, Tendai Chinyama, Jefias Moyo, Abina Rutsito, Gabriel Shumba, Stephen Takaedzwa, Linda Madyamhanje, Tafadzwa Billiard, Simon Mudimu, Dube Zwelibanzi, Simon Mapanzure, Augustine Tengenyika, Gapara Nyamadzawo, Paul Rukanda, Lazarus and Stanford Maengahama, Kerina Dewa, Memory Ncube, Rebecca Mafukeni, Yvonne Musarurwa, Phineas Nhatarikwa and Stanford Mangwiro.
